Learn to Henna:
Expand your sense of history and culture by learning about the ancient art form of henna.

This 3-hour workshop is a combination of discussion and hands on practical work. This is a class intended for beginners, to familiarize you with henna and its uses.
No previous artistic or henna experience is required. Anyone can learn the basics of henna mixology and application. Participants were encouraged to bring along a fun attitude and a willingness to participate!
In our 3-hour workshop, you will learn:
- History and traditions of henna
- Dangers of black henna & how to identify it
- Basic design styles
- How to mix paste from fresh powders, filling & making applicators
- Application techniques & aftercare
- Practice time
- Resources, supplies & support
Facilitator Larissa Reinders, Dragonfly Designs Henna (Fredericton, New Brunswick) is 1 of only 4 Internationally Certified Natural Henna Artists in Canada. She is an acclaimed artist, seasoned designer and friendly facilitator, with over 6 years experience. Colleen Garland, Henna Artistry (Medicine Hat) is also Internationally Certified, and will be on hand to assist and guide you. This fun workshop combines hands-on training, personal guidance, lecture, discussion, demonstration, question and answer. Working knowledge of English is essential. Students will receive a certificate of completion.
